Bookworms flock at the Amdavad National Book Fair 2017 - CM Vijay Rupani Dedicates Rs. 1001Cr worth projects

Ahmedabad National Book Fair 2017

CM Vijay Rupani has inaugurated the sixth edition of Amdavad National Book Fair on 1st May 2017, Monday, which will continue until Sunday 7th May, at Gujarat University Convention Centre. The Book Fair will be open for all between 12 pm to 10 pm on weekdays and 10 am to 10 pm on weekends.

During the inauguration ceremony Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) also inaugurated a coffee table book called ‘Shabdshilp’ displaying the five year legacy of Amdavad Book Fair and also a book based on Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar– Akshardeh 23-24-25.

Rupani shared “Even though the Gujaratis are believed to be highly inclined towards business, Amdavad National Book Fair every year sells literature worth Rs. 1.5 Cr.” CM Vijay Rupani also declared upcoming development projects worth Rs. 1001 Cr in Gujarat and while addressing the inauguration he also launched the AMC Jal, which is 100ml, 200ml and 1-litre capacity water bottles, available for half the price of the existing brands in the market. The Gujarat Gaurav Divas had everything for everyone, and we hope to see a grandeur celebration like this every year to grow the proud feeling of being a Gujarati.

It is summer vacation time in the city, and Ahmedabad Book Fair is the perfect getaway for parents and children to spend a day or two amidst the smell of books. The Book Fair boasts of close to 320 stalls, a jump from 175 stalls in 2016, and it promises to offer literature, which is difficult to find in book stores. Apart from this, to add to the celebration AMC has organised many interesting Poetry Recitals, Workshops and Discussions as part of the fair. A special area for children activities is also formed to engage the young minds in more cohesive manner.

On the occasion, a beautiful song that celebrates reading and power of knowledge, was launched by CM Shri Vijay Rupani. The song is penned by popular and respect Poet Shri Tushar Shukla and is composed by Shyamal-Saumil and performed by Arti Munshi, Shayamal-Saumil Munshi and team. Here are the verses from the song :

વિદ્યાદાયિની મા સરસ્વતી કેરો તું પ્રસાદ,
