Does Ahmedabad Art Weekly meets its purpose?, 'Yes', responds the creative community.

Team CY ventures out to receive feedback from the creative community of Ahmedabad, with the purpose to gauge the acceptance and efficacy of it’s work as a hyper-local culture media. Has CY really added value in augmenting the demand for cultural and creative offerings in the city?Watch the video to find out.

‘To create and curate content that is not limited to entertainment, which fills the audience instead with joy and enrichment, every day.’

This was the single line agenda that led to the foundation of, back in 2015. To be able to do this, we defined the following three purposes :

  1. To be a bridge between creators & connoisseurs
  2. To inspire creativity
  3. To become the ‘daily dose of art, culture & inspiration’ for every demographic profile.

At this juncture of completing 200 weeks of Ahmedabad Art Weekly – which was creativeyatra’s first step and pre-dates the website launch – we seek to find out if we are really serving our purpose and providing ENRICHMENT to our audience?

We talk with our readers & viewers, art connoisseurs & entrepreneurs, artists & creators, gallerists and academicians – basically with individuals representing the larger creative ecosystem of Ahmedabad.

We express our gratitude to each one for your valuable response and feedback. The response is heartwarming. While some acknowledge the consistency and quality of our publishing, few others mention the ‘responsible’ approach of the team. Many creators from diverse domains share how being ‘covered on CY’ has augmented their efforts of ‘reaching out’. Gallerists and Senior patrons have expressed delight over CreativeYatra’s larger role of being a showcase of Ahmedabad’s creativity, and in doing so, adding value to the aesthetic landscape of the city. Academicians from institutes like National Insititute of Design (NID), CEPT University and Sheth CN School of Fine Arts have responded by saying that stories and features on has helped their students work reach to a global audience. We are satiated to know that our micro-focus on hyper-local happenings has an impactful resonance.

Our take home from all the collective feedback that came to us through this video making exercise is – we have served our purpose of inspiring creativity reasonably well, however still there is a lot that can be done to be able to create greater value for everyone around and for creativity in general. We also welcome suggestion of initiating outreach programmes to enhance aesthetic sensibilities of young patrons.

We also take this opportunity to thank the creative and cultural community of Ahmedabad, each one of them – individuals, organisations and associations – for always encouraging and supporting us. You, it is each one of you which makes our Ahmedabad, special.

We promise to bring continued flow of enrichment into your lives, in the times to come. Stay tuned to #creativeyatra
