Hemu Gadhvi who is one of the most eminent names in Gujarati Literature, language, theatre, and cultural singing is the inspiration for our 87th edition of Ahmedabad Art Weekly. Born in a small town called Chotila, Hemu’s folk songs and Bhajans are still soulfully vibrating in our heart. It was not only the radio that gave him the popularity, his daayro was something that was popular enough to attract the crowd even from neighbouring states. Folk songs in his voice like Kasumbhi no Rang, Karam no Sangathi, Kachchh Ma are still alive in our culture, and will remain for coming generations too.
