Ahmedabad has gone through 2 rain showers this week, but since we are not in control of nature and can’t bring the lovely atmosphere at will, we can quench our thirst of consuming awing content through 110th Ahmedabad Art Weekly. The CY community is growing every minute, Yatris have now started sending us entries of enriching events in abundance, and we duly apologise for the space constraint and not mentioning each event within our lineup. Although the gig does exist on our website and enthusiasts can access it through our event section. The 110th Ahmedabad Art Weekly is dedicated to Madhusudan Amilal Dhaky, a phenomenal architect and art historian, who has written exhaustively on Indian temples, Jain literature and art. Sharing a common birthplace with Mahatma, the Padma Bhushan honoured scholar has written 25 books, 325 research papers and 400 articles and is renowned for his notable work of drafting 14 volumes of Indian Temple Architecture. While dipping his hands in variety of fields including geology, chemistry, banking, Indian classical music, horticulture, he finally settled in the field of Archeology and was appointed as the Director of Research at the Centre for Art and Archeology at the American Institute of Indian Studies. He is renowned for contributing his skills in refurbishing the Somnath Temple and will breathe around us through his vast body of work.
